Students will learn how to create an acrylic painting of animals, landscapes or still life from start to finish! The first two classes will begin with learning basic drawing and value techniques. Students will be working from direct observation and photos. The third class will be dedicated to the transition from pencil to color media. The last three classes will be focused on painting and the techniques involved in completing the work. Individual attention will assist students with little, or previous experience. The goal is for students to gain/sharpen skills, learn how to organize a composition, and develop full color acrylic painting.

About the teacher: David Bottini brings over 31 years of experience teaching art and a lifetime working as a professional artist to teaching beginner and emerging artists.  He studied painting at the The Rhode Island School of Design, The Maryland Institute, and earned his MFA from The Savannah College of Art & Design.

Bottini’s paintings are featured in national art publications and his paintings are exhibited and collected throughout the United States. He has been part of the Cumberland Valley Juried Exhibit for 2018, 2019 and was the Peoples Choice award recipient for the 2018 and 2019 Cumberland Valley Exhibit. His work is on exhibit locally at Bridge Gallery in Shepherdstown, WV.
