——THIS CLASS IS CURRENLTY FULL——

Students will learn how to create an acrylic painting of animals, landscapes or architecture starting with a pencil drawing on paper and finishing with a completed painting! The first two classes will be dedicated to value techniques and perspective drawing to capture structures and landscapes in a realistic way. Students will be working from direct observation photos (photos you take yourself). The third class will be dedicated to the transition from the drawing to the painting using monochromatic color. The last three classes will be focused on full color painting and the techniques involved in completing the work. Individual attention will assist students with little, or previous experience. The goal is for students to gain/sharpen drawing skills, learn how to organize a composition, and develop a full color acrylic painting.

Class Dates: Mondays, Jan. 6th - Feb. 10th

Times: 1pm-3pm

Ages: 14 and up

Cost: $125 + $135 supply kit (supplies may also be purchased separately)

About the teacher: David Bottini brings over 31 years of experience teaching art and a lifetime working as a professional artist to teaching beginner and emerging artists.  He studied painting at the The Rhode Island School of Design, The Maryland Institute, and earned his MFA from The Savannah College of Art & Design.

Bottini’s paintings are featured in national art publications and his paintings are exhibited and collected throughout the United States. He has been part of the Cumberland Valley Juried Exhibit for 2018, 2019 and was the Peoples Choice award recipient for the 2018 and 2019 Cumberland Valley Exhibit. His work is on exhibit locally at Bridge Gallery in Shepherdstown, WV.
